Every RF Isolation desktop shield box delivers reliable RF shielding performance in a compact, bench-friendly form factor, built for engineers who need clean, repeatable test results without taking up half their workbench.
Feature What It Means for You
Up to 125 dB Isolation @ 1 GHz Industry-leading shielding effectiveness in a desktop enclosure. Eliminates ambient WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular signals so your test results reflect the device, not the environment.
Compact Desktop Form Factor Fits comfortably on any standard workbench or sliding rack shelf without disrupting your existing lab layout. Lightweight aluminium construction makes it easy to reposition between stations.
Top-Load & Front-Load Door Options Choose the access style that fits your workflow. Top-load for fast, repetitive DUT placement or front-load for devices with cables and connections that need more access space.
Rugged Welded Aluminium Body CNC-bent and laser-welded aluminium construction provides a durable, RF-tight enclosure that handles daily lab use without seal degradation or structural wear.
Copper Beryllium Door Contacts Military-grade copper beryllium finger contacts maintain consistent shielding effectiveness across tens of thousands of open/close cycles. No performance drop after months of daily use.
Multi-Layer RF Absorber Lining Internal multi-layer absorber suppresses signal reflections inside the enclosure, ensuring accurate radiated measurements without multipath interference.
Replaceable Rear I/O Modules Field-replaceable rear panel lets you add or swap SMA connectors, USB, power, and DC filter ports as your test requirements change. No need to return the unit.
Desktop & Rack Shelf Mounting Use it standalone on your bench or mount it on a standard 19-inch rack shelf for a cleaner, integrated lab setup. Both options supported across all models.

What Is an RF Desktop Shield Box?

An RF Desktop Shield Box, also called a benchtop RF shielded enclosure or desktop RF test box, is a compact, portable Faraday cage designed for testing small to medium wireless devices on a workbench or rack shelf. It isolates the device under test (DUT) from ambient electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), creating a clean RF environment for accurate, repeatable wireless testing.

Unlike larger standalone boxes or rack-mount enclosures, the RF desktop shield box is purpose-built for individual engineer workstations. It is lightweight enough to move, compact enough for tight bench space, and fast to load and unload for high-iteration R&D or small-batch QA to work.

RF Isolation manufactures 7 desktop shield box models from our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Ahmedabad, each customizable to your device size, port requirements, and mounting preference.

Where RF Desktop Shield Boxes Are Used

WiFi & WLAN Device Testing (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax)

WiFi engineers use desktop shield boxes to run throughput, sensitivity, and coexistence tests in an interference-free environment. Our enclosures support all 802.11 protocols from 2.4 GHz 802.11b to WiFi 6E at 6 GHz.

Bluetooth & BLE Module Testing

Bluetooth 5.x, BLE, and Zigbee devices require clean RF conditions for sensitivity and range testing. Our compact desktop models provide the isolation levels required for BQB and FCC pre-compliance work.

4G & 5G Device Testing

For 4G LTE and 5G Sub-6 GHz module validation, our desktop shield boxes provide greater than or equal to 90 dB isolation at 6 GHz, sufficient for OTA sensitivity testing and protocol compliance verification before formal lab submission.

RFID & NFC Device Testing

RFID and NFC manufacturers use compact desktop enclosures to simulate controlled read-range environments and test antenna sensitivity, isolated from ambient interference.

IoT Device Pre-Compliance Testing

IoT development teams use RF desktop shield boxes throughout the product development cycle to catch RF issues early, before formal EMC and wireless certification. Testing early saves weeks of lab time and significant certification cost.

QA & End-of-Line Production Testing

For small-batch production lines or QA stations, the desktop shield box provides a cost-effective, space-efficient RF shielded test environment with consistent, repeatable isolation every time.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is an RF Desktop Shield Box used for?
It is used to create a shielded, interference-free environment for testing wireless devices including WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, 5G, RFID, and NFC on a lab workbench. It blocks ambient RF signals, so your test results are accurate and repeatable.
What is the difference between an RF Desktop Shield Box and an RF Standalone Shield Box?
A desktop box is compact and designed for a single engineer workstation, ideal for small to medium devices and R&D use. A standalone box is larger, available in more sizes, and suited for bigger devices or free-standing setups. If bench space is limited, the desktop box is the right choice.
Which model should I choose for WiFi 6 testing?
For WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E testing up to 6 GHz, we recommend the RI 5630-D or RI 5639. Both deliver 125 dB at 1 GHz and 90 dB at 6 GHz, covering all 802.11ax frequency bands including the 6 GHz band.
Can the rear I/O panel be customized?
Yes. The rear I/O panel on every model is field-replaceable. Configure it with SMA, USB 2.0/3.0, RJ-45, DC power, AC power, or DB9/DB25 ports, or request a fully custom panel for your test system.
    What mounting options are available?

All models work as standalone benchtop units or mount on a standard 19-inch rack shelf. Rack shelf mounting integrates the shield box cleanly into multi-instrument lab setups.

    What is the delivery timeline?
Standard models ship within 2 to 3 weeks across India. Custom configurations take 3 to 5 weeks. International shipping is available to USA, UK, Turkey, Australia, Italy, Israel, and more.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. We offer a free prototype trial so you can evaluate isolation performance in your own test environment before purchasing. Contact our team on WhatsApp or fill the quote form to apply.
Is the desktop shield box suitable for 5G testing?
Yes. Our desktop boxes deliver 90 dB isolation at 6 GHz, meeting the requirements for 5G Sub-6 GHz OTA sensitivity and protocol testing. For higher isolation needs, contact us for a custom configuration.
Can I get a custom size?
Yes, fully. Custom-manufacture desktop shield boxes to any internal dimension. Share your device dimensions, frequency range, and port requirements, and we will quote within 24 hours.
    What maintenance does it require?
Inspect the copper beryllium door contact fingers every 6 months. Clean the door gasket seal regularly. Spare parts and maintenance guidance are available from our team post-purchase.
